Communications Officer - Ireland

I started volunteering with Sea Shepherd back in 2009 after I returned from travelling. During that time I visited many countries and was constantly faced with abuse of the environment, human and non-human animals. On my return to the UK I joined a local Hunt Saboteurs group, using direct action to save wildlife from blood sport. Shortly after, I started volunteering onshore for Sea Shepherd, doing stalls at gigs, festivals, fairs and giving talks when I could, all while working within the telecommunications industry.

Back in April I was asked if I would be available to carry out work on the fleet's communications, so I quit my job and booked a flight to Melbourne. For me, Sea Shepherd provides an essential defence for a planet and its inhabitants facing destruction, and I'm proud to be involved.
